WECEP is a state-approved, work training program that provides students, 14 and 15 years of age, with skills necessary to enter the workforce and the opportunity to explore potential careers. An employer provides a site for the student to have the opportunity to develop the skills necessary to succeed in a particular occupation in the form of a paid job or internship. The program is designed to provide students with career and technical training in addition to their traditional academic coursework. Students participate in a daily WECEP class where they learn job readiness skills.

STUDENT PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
- 14-15 years of age before November 1st of each year
- Commitment to work and school
- Complete application process including: Program Application, Parent/student contract and Parent/student contract
- Commitment to perfect attendance and maintain a 2.5 GPA
